Last Day of School!
In light of the Code Orange air quality alert issued today, June 12, by the Maryland Department of the Environment and out of an abundance of caution for the wellbeing of students and staff, all outdoor activities planned at schools will be moved indoors or canceled. 🎉 ABC & 123 Summer Jam Challenge is Here! 🎉
For all current PreK to 4th grade students
Dear Families,
We’re excited to kick off our ABC & 123 Summer Jam Challenge- a fun and rewarding way to keep students learning all summer long! 🌞📚✏️
Students have three exciting options to complete the challenge and earn a chance to attend a special carnival in September! 🎪🎈
🌟 Challenge Options:
Option 1:
✅ Complete and PASS 15 Reading and 15 Math I-Ready lessons
Option 2:
📖 Read 5 books and write 5 summaries (1 summary for each book)
➕ Pass a math facts test when school resumes
(Great news! Every student picked a free book today from the book fair—this can count as one of the five!*)
Option 3:
🏛️ Attend 2 literacy and 2 math events at the local library with Ms. Batteast (Every student was given a summer Jam brochure with the events you can choose from. Also the brochure is attached)
📚 More Summer Fun!
🎁 Community Schools will host another Scholastic Book Fair on July 1st and 7th—students can pick another free book!
📖 Don’t forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Program at the library!
They’re giving away amazing prizes like:

- ✈️ Plane Tickets!
