This month, we're taking a meaningful pause from our usual focus on academic data to spotlight something equally important: keeping our children safe in the digital world.
As our school community becomes more technologically savvy, it's essential that we partner with families to ensure students are not only thriving online but staying safe. From social media to gaming apps, our children are navigating an increasingly digital landscape. Together, we can build the knowledge and tools needed to protect them.
We invite all parents and guardians to join us for a special Campus Conversations session focused on Cyber Safety.
You'll learn practical tips and resources on:
Recognizing online risks and setting healthy boundaries
Monitoring and guiding screen time
Keeping personal information private
Encouraging responsible digital citizenship
Event Details:
Date: 2/20/26
Time: 7:40 AM
Location: Cafeteria
Coffee & Light Breakfast will be served
This is a valuable opportunity to connect with other families, ask questions, and build confidence around how to support your child’s safe technology use at home and school.

3:00 p.m., 2/3/26: Barring any additional inclement weather overnight that would impact school operations, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools and offices will open on time and will operate on normal schedules for students and staff on Wednesday, February 4.
There will still be areas of the county where adverse road and sidewalk conditions exist tomorrow morning, so families and employees are urged to continue to exercise caution and patience, including as it relates to decisions about student drivers. Families of students who normally walk to school should once again closely examine walking routes and, if prudent and possible, consider transporting their students to and from school.
Thank you.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Bedell delivers a message to families, students and staff about the reopening of schools today and also thanks all those who continue to exercise grace and patience. More than 90 percent of students attended classes in person today, and our AACPS team is continuing to work along with County and City of Annapolis crews to make things better as the week progresses. #BelongGrowSucceed #AACPSFamily

Dear Families,
After three snow days and two days of virtual learning, we are excited to welcome our students and staff back to campus. Monday 2/2 and Tuesday 2/3, we will be operating on a 2-hour delay. Our daily instruction will begin at 10:00am.
Our team has worked diligently to prepare the school grounds for a safe return. While all main pathways have been cleared, please note that due to persistent low temperatures, there may still be patches of ice along walking routes. If you are able to accompany your child on their walk to school, or wait with them at the bus stop, it would be incredibly helpful in ensuring everyone's safety during the transition back to in-person learning.
As we prepare for the return, here are a few important reminders:
• Allow extra time for both drop-off and pick-up. Roads may still be slick and traffic may move more slowly due to snow piles limiting road space.
• Dress warmly! Please ensure your child is bundled in winter layers, including gloves, hats, and coats to stay protected from the cold.
• Check for transportation updates. Please monitor your email and the district website for any bus delays or route changes due to weather conditions.
Thank you for your continued support and flexibility. We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to seeing everyone back in school tomorrow!
Dr. Montgomery
4:00 p.m., 1/31/26: Out of an abundance of caution and in order to allow additional time for student and staff travel, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open two hours late on Monday, Feb. 2, and Tuesday, Feb. 3. There will be no morning half-day ECSE sessions, no morning sessions at the Centers of Applied Technology, and no transportation to JROTC programs.
Families of students who normally walk to school should closely examine walking routes prior to Monday and strongly consider transporting their students to and from school. Some adverse road and sidewalk conditions will also still exist on Monday and Tuesday, so families and staff are urged to exercise caution and patience, including as it relates to decisions about student drivers.

4:35 p.m., 1/30/26: Anne Arundel County Public Schools-sponsored activities for Saturday, January 31, will continue as scheduled. For the status of activities sponsored by agencies other than Anne Arundel County Public Schools on January 31 or February 1, please check with those agencies.
Those traveling to school sites for activities on Saturday should allow extra time for travel and exercise caution as they walk to and from buildings. Crews will be continuing to work on school sites throughout the day Saturday.
No decisions have been made about the status of school district operations for Monday, February 2.
Thank you.
